Location: National Training Center – San Antonio, TX

FLSA Status: Exempt/Salary

Position Status: Regular Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. As a salaried, exempt position, occasional weekend or out-of-standard-hours work may be required based on the timeliness of company needs. Every reasonable effort will be made to minimize these occurrences; however, they may occur.

Travel: Up to 25% of the time, in- or out-of-state

Job Summary

The Training Facilitator assists in developing, delivering, and continuously improving training courses and programs for all departments across the company - not exclusively field operations. This role serves employees at every level of the organization, from new hires in week one onboarding to tenured staff receiving policy updates and professional development. Duties include working with the Learning Content Designer to determine training needs, creating and refining instructional content, implementing training programs into company procedures, and evaluating the effectiveness of completed training. The Training Facilitator monitors the training environment from pre-hire through onboarding and continued learning. This role maintains strong communication and reporting relationships with multiple departments, field management, and company personnel at all levels. The Facilitator will lead and assist with both in-person and virtual instruction across a wide variety of topics and departments. Because our Learning & Development team functions as a true “jack of all trades,” the actual scope of work may shift based on company needs. Projects may start with one team member, then get handed off to another, so flexibility and humility are essential for this role. This is not a black-and-white job description - flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on tasks outside the defined list are essential qualities for success in this role.

Essential Functions & Areas of Responsibilities

  • Act as the week one training liaison to orient and communicate with the trainee before travel to the Training Center.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive business continuity plan for the training department. Collaborate with the team members to document essential processes, procedures, and resources required for business continuity.
  • Assist with training new hires (as needed) in week one curriculum using the best training methods for a specific purpose or audience-In-person and virtually. Facilitate the week one curriculum as needed.
  • Manage and schedule the new-hire check-ins during weeks 1-4 of training and communicate data gathered during these interactions with the training team. Monitor and track attendance of new-hire check-ins.
  • Facilitate training webinars of new content and policy rollouts for District Managers, Sr. Property Managers, Mentors, and Managers/Assistant Managers.
  • Communicate training webinar schedules and workshops for employees.
  • Assess the instructional effectiveness of the webinars taught and determine the impact of this training on employee skills and KPIs.
  • Contribute to ongoing course development and training program updates.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Content Designer by reviewing and providing feedback on course materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with training objectives.
  • Collaborate with District Manager, Senior Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and the Training Team to identify ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Assist in maintaining updated training curriculum and documents on the Training Center SharePoint site, including the Field Operations Manual, procedures aides, and infographics.
  • Attend platform seminars and training webinars to learn best practices to prepare and coordinate future training sessions
  • Introduce company training opportunities to employees that provide information on the benefits of training to encourage field participation; this may include recorded presentations and emails.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Training department and other participants, such as District Managers and field teams, as directed.
  • Report to the Training Manager on a daily basis. This role also carries an indirect reporting relationship to the Director of Learning and Development.
  • Regular attendance by the Company’s Attendance Policy is required for this position.
  • Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions on a wide variety of topics and for every department across the company. This role is not limited to field operations; the Learning & Development team creates and delivers content to all areas of the business, including but not limited to operations, HR, finance, administration, and leadership.
  • Present training materials in a variety of settings and formats.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Periodic special projects and duties may be assigned based on Company needs and requirements.
  • Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, with frequent interruptions or distractions and within tight deadlines

Training Operations & Logistics

  • Transport trainees to and from the Training Center and the airport using a designated company vehicle, as required. This includes picking up and dropping off students attending weekly in-person training sessions.
  • Independently lead in person training sessions, including classroom facilitation and on site support.
  • Book and coordinate travel arrangements for new trainees attending in person training.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and training experience of new hires in the field, ensuring continuity between in person and field training phases.
  • Monitor, preserve, and maintain the integrity of training equipment, including but not limited to laptops, tablets, projectors, and other instructional tools.
  • Maintain, track, and reconcile petty cash and per diem expenses for trainees in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of supplies and materials used by the Training Center and ensure proper documentation.

Training Communication & Feedback

  • Communicate training program updates, expectations, and logistical information to trainees and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collect feedback submitted by trainees in both in person and online formats.
  • Track, analyze, and summarize trainee feedback and share insights with the Training Team to support continuous improvement of the trainee experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, shift between tasks as needed, and perform effectively amid interruptions and tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Intermediate computer skills required
  • General office and telephone skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint required
  • Adult education experience preferred

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required

Westport Work Category

  • On-Site Team Member: This position requires daily, in-person presence at the National Training Center – San Antonio, TX. Remote work is not available for this role. Extremely limited exceptions may be considered only in rare circumstances and solely at management’s discretion.

Work Environment

  • On-site at the National Training Center – San Antonio, TX. This is a 100% in-person position; daily on-site presence is required.
